Event Details

Metropolitan Ministries has gone from a single room food pantry, to one of America’s most effective and innovated caregivers. They serve approximately 100-150 families daily through Outreach Services and offer a variety of supportive programs. 80 children and 40 adults call Metropolitan Ministries their home every night.  GET REAL Involved! will serve the guests by performing miscellaneous tasks such as cooking, sorting clothes and repair projects.

Each year they provide the community with the basic essentials for Back to School with their annual, and growing, event BACKPACKS OF HOPE.

GET REAL Involved!

GET REAL Involved! engages youth in community service within Tampa Bay.

This group was formed based on the idea that getting students involved in community service early and often will change the world.

We know students want to make a difference, and that they prefer to spend time with their peers &  friends.  GET REAL Involved! service projects allow them to do just that.  We organize turnkey service projects within the Tampa Bay community that are screened to conform to Hillsborough County School requirements for service hours.

All trips are fully chaperoned with background checked adults.  All service sites have been screened.  We've done all the work, all you have to do is fill out some forms (click here) and show up!

This group is sponsored by the Youth Ministry of Hyde Park United Methodistwhich has been organizing monthly youth service projects under the GET REAL banner since 2006.  All are welcome!
